Shoop Park Golf Course proved to be a real challenge for me, and I think it’s great for intermediate players like myself. The greens conditions were a bit wild with some rough edges, but I attribute it to the course’s natural state – which I liken to a wild mustang. The clubhouse didn’t serve my favorite brew, but they had some great craft beers on offer. The staff provided us with some ol’ mid-western hospitality that made us all feel welcomed. Pro tip

“Grass so green it’s like playing on a well-manicured emerald carpet. Swing to the chatter of birds or sip a cup of joe in the clubhouse, whatever you do, this unconventional urban oasis doesn’t disappoint. Oh, and watch out for the water hazard on the 3rd hole, it’s sneakier than a fox!”
