As a fan of the ol’ stick and ball, Great Hills is absolutely my jam. Each hole has its own personality while also holding the element of surprise. Sure, some of the fairways could use a bit of love, but drama isn’t made from flat smoothness. Clubhouse? It’s right and proper – good beers on tap and a really comfortable place to enjoy them. The only thing that gets my goat is the pace of play is like an old man getting out of a bath… real slow. Anyway, worth a visit in my opinion.

Great Hills Country Club is a true golf oasis in the heart of Austin. The course is maintained to perfection, with beautifully manicured greens and fairways. The layout is challenging but fun, just the right blend for my skill level. I was delighted by the customer service too, with the staff being friendly and attentive. The clubhouse facilities are well-kept and provide a relaxing space to unwind after the game. The pace of play could use improvement, but it’s a small hiccup in an otherwise superb experience.
